(Hastings, Neb.) - Haskell golf team plays in sleet and ice.

(Hastings, Neb.) - Haskell participated in the Hastings College Spring Invitational golf tournament held at the Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Nebraska. The day started with a frost delay with the weather conditions turning worse with sleet and snow during the middle part of the first round of play. The eight team field was able to complete the first round, but during Monday night 3 inches of snow fell and tournament host Coach Roger Doerr and the Southern Hills Golf Course, which was to be played for the second round, made the decision to cancel the second round of play.

"I think that with the weather conditions that we faced this season I'm going to consider scheduling tournaments next year deeper in the south or in the more dryer desert regions of the country!" Coach Pahcoddy jokingly said. "I'm putting in my order for good weather during our conference play in two weeks back in Lawrence."

Scores for the first round: Brad Yeubanks 84 tied for 26th place overall. Terence Mata 84 tied for 26th place overall. Chahta Butler 96 tied for 50th place overall. Jeff Voyles 101 52nd place overall. Brandy Supernaw 104 53rd place overall.

Haskell Indian Nations University will be hosting the 2008 MCAC Conference Championship tournament in Lawrence, Ks. on April 21st and 22nd at the Alvamar Golf Course.
