June 1-4, 2008 - National Congress of the American Indian: Mid-year conference and trade show- Reno, NV
- The Working Group co-convened a session titled "Collaboratively Addressing Climate Change." This meeting launched a new network of practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to identify collaborative opportunities to address the impact of climate change on Native communities. The meeting was convened by a partnership between the NCAI Policy Research Center and the American Indian & Alaska Native Climate Change Working Group. Participants discussed projects and activities to advance collective efforts to address climate change.

March 19-21, 2008 - Planning for Seven Generations: Traditional and Scientific Approaches to Climate Change - Denver, CO
- This conference approached climate change from two perspectives; one rooted in indigenous experiences and one born of present-day science. The overarching goal is to look for opportunities for the two perspectives to point to shared strategies for understanding, adapting to, and mitigating climate change, with a particular focus on American Indian Lands.

March 18-20, 2008 - Tribal Energy Policy: Climate and Technology Challenges - Denver, CO
- The Third Annual Tribal Energy Policy Conference brought together high level tribal, industry, and government leaders and experts in the many fields of energy, environment, science and technology, and policy in a series of facilitated dialogues to: examine the emerging global, national, and tribal environment in which tribal energy and development policies will be made; identify the impacts of energy, social, and technological adaptations to climate change and increased global competition for energy resources; and, to establish a framework for rationalizing tribal energy policy.

Summer 2007 - NASA AIHEC Summer Research Experience - Greenbelt, MD
- Students from Tribal Colleges and Universities completed internships with NASA in Greenbelt Maryland this past summer. The projects completed by the students were focuses on the impacts of climate change on indigenous populations. You may see their projects if you go to the documents page.
