The RED Center on the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University is proud to present our first annual research summit.  The RED (research, evaluation, and dissemination) Center was designed and developed for the purpose of promoting and building capacity in the area of indigenous research. 

This year’s summit will focus on the Urban Indian Experience (the ethnohistory of urban, metropolitan and, relocated Indigenous and American Indian populations).  Areas of interest include business, education, environmental studies, indigenous and American Indian studies, and health.

The summit will convene on Thursday, April 10th at 12 pm, and conclude on Friday, April 11th at 5 pm.  An updated agenda will be available on Monday, March 17th. 

RED Center Series Research Summit goals include:

• supporting indigenous knowledge and native ways of knowing by providing a forum for elders, scholars, and tribal leaders to engage in dialogue with indigenous students.

• creating opportunities for new knowledge and enhanced understanding of current practices in research specific to indigenous and American Indian populations. 

• fostering the development of initiatives to encourage research by and about Indigenous and American Indian people.
