WELCOME

The “Working Group” is not a “special” or “select” group, but a body of individuals committed to seeing the linkages between tribes, TCUs, federal agencies and NGOs strengthened.  Consequently, the Working Group is open to all who share our commitment.

Because of our recognition that the lifeways of indigenous people hold tremendous lessons for all of humankind to consider as we collectively think about our future, we have formed the American Indian and Alaska Native Climate Change Working Group to take immediate steps to ensure tribal Peoples will have the expertise within their own communities to make good decisions.

In the next year we will work to publicize our vision, mission, goals and objectives.  As we do so, we will seek working partnerships that will allow us to begin meeting our goals - in education, research, planning and assessment.  We believe the work will be hard, but the choices we make today are important for all of our Relatives.

If you are interested in joining the working group please send an email to Nasbah Ben at nabis1@cresis.ku.edu
