The Healthier Haskell program aims to bring together the local community to improve overall health and wellness. Haskell will host monthly activities and events on campus utilizing a holistic approach to wellness. These activities include classes, seminars, and activities for all ages, interests, and fitness levels. A monthly calendar will be posted on the Haskell website after September 1, 2007.

Local, regional, and national groups will be invited to the monthly themed events to join Haskell in becoming the “fittest” college in the nation. At the monthly events, individuals and teams we will be recognized for such honors as “the most events attended” and “most miles logged.” Incentives will be given once participants have accumulated 100, 250, 500, 750, and 1000 miles and this can help motivate you on your road to a healthy lifestyle such as sweatshirts, shorts, beaded lanyards, and much more.
Membership is good for one year and your miles can roll into the following term.
Eligible individuals can register by attending any of the monthly events, at Jim Thorpe Fitness Center, or signing up online. All Healthier Haskell participants are invited to utilize Jim Thorpe Fitness Center to meet program goals.
Wellness Group-contact Angelina Tah, Counselor at (785) 830-2775. The Wellness Group has one goal and that’s to support Healthier Haskell. The objectives are to bond as Indian people, to gain strength by using our muscles (legs, arms), to walk as a group and enjoy the campus, and to learn how to utilize the Jim Thorpe Fitness Center.
