Selection and Acquisitions Selection: All departments on the Haskell Indian Nations University campus are encouraged to be involved in the Library’s collection development. In addition, students, administrators, faculty, and staff are encouraged to suggest needed materials. The final responsibility for developing and maintaining a balanced collection remains with the Library staff.
Faculty members should select the course-related material for their classes and recommend specialized books from their related disciplines. An evaluation and review of their disciplines will assist in maintaining a viable collection.

Recommendations for Purchase: Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to recommend library items to be added to the collection. These requests may be made directly to the circulation desk of the Director of the Academic Support Center.
Gift Donations: The Library Gift Acceptance Policy is to accept all gifts of books and other library materials with the clear understanding that they become property of the library. Donations of materials must be in good physical condition and support the library’s mission and collection development policies. The Library will make the final decision on the use of disposition of gift items and if they are added to the library’s collection.
