2009 Haskell Indian Nations University
2nd Annual RED Center Research Summit Series

The 2009 Summit will serve as the culmination of a year of review, discussion, and insight into the role of “place” relevant to indigenous communities. 

Please join us as we continue to explore the concept of “place.”

Research strands involve:

Place as Sacred    -    Place as Community    -    Place as Identity    -    Place as Leadership

The summit will convene at 12 pm on Wednesday, May 6th and conclude at 5 pm on Thursday, May 7th.  Haskell Indian Nations University will recognize and honor our 2009 Spring Graduates the following day, May 8th at 10 am.

Areas of interest include business, education, environmental studies, indigenous and American Indian studies, and health.

Papers submitted for presentation must be received by Friday, March 27, 2009.  

A completed submission includes an abstract (at least 300 words in length), to include the title, focus (business, education, environmental science, indigenous and American Indian studies, and health), author’s name, and address.  Submissions must be presented in a professional, publishable manner. 

Notification will be provided to accepted submission by Friday, April 3, 2009.  Accepted submissions will be published on the Haskell Indian Nations University RED Center website: www.haskell.edu

Audio-visual equipment will be available for presentations.  Please include the type of equipment you will need on the presentation proposal form

Accepted presenters are required to register, and the associated fee will be waived.
