TRiO Student Support Services
Student Support Services is a federally funded TRiO Program. The SSS program serves First-Generation and/or Low-Income students with individualized support services in the areas of academic and personal need. Our goal is to assist eligible students to obtain their undergraduate degrees. All of our services are free and aimed at helping our participants to be successful at Haskell Indian Nations University. You MUST apply and be accepted to the program.
Eligibility Requirements:
Be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident
Be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled at Haskell Indian Nations University
Demonstrate academic need
Demonstrate high motivation to successfully complete your coursework
You must also meet any ONE of the following criteria:
A first-generation college student (neither of your parents has received a four-year college bachelor’s degree)
Low-income according to federal guidelines
Services Offered:
Grant Aid: small grant for eligible participants
Tutoring: Drop In Tutoring Lab (Stidham Union)
Academic Advising
Career Counseling: Explore majors & careers
Financial Aid Counseling: Assistance with FASFA, verification, appeals and outside scholarships
Workshops: study skills, life skills, etc.
Computer Lab: Open 8am-5pm (Stidham Union)
