Health, Sport, and Exercise Science

Welcome to the Health, Sport, and Exercise Science Department. We are truly excited to be part of your educational journey and college experience. Our highly qualified faculty bring years of professional and collegiate experience from all different backgrounds, settings, and tribal affiliations. We are dedicated to enhancing your educational journey while promoting a commitment to a healthy lifestyle. By providing various academic opportunities in community health, sports administration, coaching, and exercise science, our faculty will foster opportunities for experiential learning through creative curricular design and active engagement. The department offers three Associate of Science degrees in the following emphasis:

  • Community Health
  • Recreation and Fitness Management
  • Health, Sport, and Exercise Science

We are prepared to help you select the career path that will bring you knowledge and skills to enter the workforce in entry level position or continue your education experience at the bachelor level.

The mission of the Health, Sport, and Exercise Science Department is to provide American Indian and Alaska Native students with opportunities to enhance their understanding of human movement.

The vision of the Health, Sport, and Exercise Science Department is to be a leading institution in health and human performance.

Program Outcomes

Upon completion of the Associate of Science degrees, graduates will be able to:

  1. Identify and select a health, sport, and exercise science career.
  2. Gain a well-rounded foundation in the discipline of study.
  3. Develop and strengthen skills, assessment strategies, and critical thinking and decision making within the discipline of study.
