English Department

The English department at Haskell is where you can learn to read and write at the college level. Communication is an essential tool for your academic success. We are home to two general education courses every student “gets” to take: ENG101 and 102, otherwise known as Freshman Composition, where you will learn to argue your position more effectively, analyze literature, and powerfully write that research paper that will be required in so many of your college classes. Another popular course (perhaps because it also meets a General Education requirement) is American Indian Literature ENG212. English offers two AA degrees, in Creative Writing and in Literature, as well as many opportunities to write and publish your own work.
